Supply Chain Seminar a success

The Supply Chain Seminar was a success giving all participants a chance to listen to major firms and their representatives asking questions and providing comments.

The Supply Chain Seminar was held on Monday, April 26 at Binghamton University. The event was well attended.  23 participants listened to representatives from Raymond, FedEX, Mohawk Global, Geodis, Impress and AM&T among others.  Participants were engaged in each of the three presentations, asking questions and providing comments.

We obtained the commitment of new participants in the supply chain initiative that will help us move forward with the vendor network concept.  The education and website components of the supply chain initiative were also furthered by the event.  Desire for more  workshops was expressed and discussions are under way for potential themes for our next workshop.

Joe Yacura of Supply Chain Management, LLC was instrumental in getting this event off of the ground and gave an excellent presentation to set the tone for the morning.  Joe developed the theme which I believe represents an innovative approach to the use of one's supply chain capabilities.

We must also thank Steve Whited and Dennis Van Deusen for their presentation of some of MeadWestvaco's leading edge collaborative supply chain capabilities which help make their company an indispensable vendor to their customers.
