The FORUM Management Program of Empire State College: complete your bachelors or associates degree in an area of business or management that suits you and your career, without disrupting your busy schedule. You can finish your degree quickly and get credit for the college-level learning you’ve gained in work and life.
If key people in your organization are finding their careers blocked because they haven’t completed a college degree--and they find that the demands of their work, family obligations, cost, and a reluctance to sit in a classroom with 18-year-olds are real obstacles for them--you and they might be interested to know about the FORUM Management Education Program and Empire State College. FORUM was designed for managers to gain the degree they need while they continue to work. They work one on one with a mentor who advises and guides them through the degree process. They’ll mostly be working independently, but they will also (unlike online and pure independent study options) attend class three times per semester, exchange ideas face to face with fellow students and professors, and become part of a community of high-level learners. At the end of it all, they will receive a degree from SUNY in a business management major of their own design.
One thing that many students find attractive about our program is that, of the 128 credits required by Empire State College for the bachelor’s degree, they can receive up to 96 credits for life experience. Students get credit (with no tuition charge) for training they have received over the years, languages they may speak, associates degrees, work experience, military service, and a range of other experience. So the very aggressive student could finish in a year to a year and a half.
