Matthew Edwards
Matthew Edwards is the Executive Director in the "Know Theatre"
A native of a small Ohio town, Matthew Edwards was an average student
who realized he needed to apply himself to achieve his dreams. He went on
to earn degrees in vocal performance from the famed Cleveland Institute of
Music at Case Western Reserve University and Louisiana State University.
Arriving with his wife in Binghamton as members of the Tri-Cities
Opera Resident Artist Program, Edwards sang at every opportunity
and was offered a position at Hartwick College. He remains there as
a resident artist, and now also is a lecturer at SUNY Cortland.
Edwards and his wife established a private studio where they teach
voice and music lessons. They also volunteer their time working with
performing arts students at Seton Catholic Central High School, where
Edwards directed the successful production of West Side Story.
In September, Edwards realized another dream, to rise to a leadership position
in the entertainment industry, when he accepted a position as executive director
of the Know Theatre. His colleagues note that he “has already had profound
effects” and “is on course to make a true impact on our community.” |
