Elaine Liu
Elaine Liu
is a Service Manager/Operations Coordinator in the Off Campus College
Transport department in Binghamton University.
Elaine has taken advantage of the opportunities made available to her through
hard work and a desire to help others. She earned a bachelor’s degree in art
history and a master’s degree in social work (MSW) from Binghamton University
and currently oversees all aspects of Off Campus College Transport (OCCT), a
non-profit, student-run bus service with over 60 employees, seven monitors and five
coordinators. She also serves as an instructor for Binghamton University’s College of
Community and Public Affairs, teaching the course “College Students in Transition.”
While a student, Liu was elected statewide MSW student representative to the
National Association of Social Workers New York State board of directors. She
remains active with the organization, and is currently on the national Committee
on Nominations and Leadership Identification for the Southern Tier division.
Recipient of the Graduate Student Award for Excellence in Service/Outreach while
working on her master’s, Liu interned at ACCORD, a center for dispute resolution,
and became a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), working within the Family
Court system to advocate for youth who have been deemed abused or neglected. |
